App development in Sarasota: what it costs and how long it takes in 2026
Real price ranges for a custom app, a website rebuild and ongoing support in Sarasota County, what moves the number, and how to get an estimate you can hold someone to.

If you run a business in Sarasota, Bradenton, Venice or Lakewood Ranch and you have been thinking about an app, the first question is always the same: what is this going to cost, and how long will it take?

Most developers answer with "it depends." That is true, but it is not useful. Here is what it actually depends on, with our own published numbers, so you have something concrete to compare against.

The short answer

These are the prices we publish on our pricing page, which is kept current:

  • A custom app or internal tool: most builds land between $3,500 and $15,000.
  • A website rebuild: starting at $1,500 for up to five pages.
  • Ongoing maintenance: from $250 a month, after 30 days of post-launch support that comes with every build.
  • Not sure what you need yet: the $499 AI Assessment is one call and a ranked plan, with a money-back guarantee.

Other Sarasota developers will price differently. The useful thing is not our number, it is knowing which parts of your project push any number up.

What moves the price

How many kinds of user there are. A tool your staff uses is one build. A tool your staff and your customers both log into, each seeing different things, is closer to two builds that share a database. This is the single most reliable predictor of cost, and it rarely comes up in the first conversation.

What it has to connect to. Taking payments through Stripe is a known quantity. Connecting to a booking system, a dispatch tool or an accounting package that was never designed to talk to anything else is not, and an honest estimate says so.

Whether you already know how the work flows. If you can describe who does what, in what order, the build is predictable. If that gets worked out during the build, the working-out is the expensive part.

How many people approve decisions. One decision-maker moves fast. Four decision-makers add weeks, and weeks are what you are paying for.

We go deeper on these in what a no-code MVP actually costs.

How we price it

We charge by feature, not by the hour. A feature is a complete piece of work your business does: a booking calendar, a checkout, a customer login. Your estimate lists each one with its price, so you can see what each piece costs and decide what makes the first version.

We also plan the whole thing before we build any of it. Some of what you want would be overkill on day one, so we leave it for later, but the first version is built so the second one does not start with a rewrite.

How long it takes

A focused first version, one kind of user and one core workflow, is a matter of weeks, not months. Every additional kind of user, every outside system and every round of approvals adds time. You get a timeline with the estimate, before anything is built.

Do you need an app at all?

Sometimes the honest answer is no. A tool you can buy for $30 a month may beat a custom build, and when it does, we tell you. That is the point of starting with the AI Assessment: one 45 to 60 minute call about how your business runs, and a plan in three to four days that prices each option and ranks it by payback. If the plan is not worth the $499, we refund it.

How to get an estimate you can trust

Whoever you talk to, ask for the estimate broken down three ways:

  1. By kind of user.
  2. By every outside system it connects to.
  3. By what is already decided versus what still has to be worked out.

A developer who can produce that breakdown has thought about your project. One who cannot is quoting from a template.
