PreSafe
Project Overview
PreSafe teaches children ages 3 to 5 the safety habits that prevent burns, drownings, and getting lost. The product is a 108-page printable workbook in English and Spanish, built around safety rhymes and a cast of cartoon characters, from Snuff the fire extinguisher to Click the seat belt, with a short video for every chapter. On the website, parents and preschools meet the characters, watch the videos, and buy the workbook.
The Work
The Challenge
The founder had a finished workbook and a website that a previous developer had started in v0, Vercel's site builder, with avatar videos made in Synthesia and HeyGen. Checkout threw an error, so nobody could buy the workbook, and the contact form wasn't connected to anything. There was no database and no way to publish a blog post, and Google had indexed three pages. PreSafe needed someone who knew Vercel and the avatar video tools to take it the rest of the way.
Our Solution
We took the code from the live deployment and rebuilt it as a Next.js app on Supabase. By the end of the first week checkout worked, Stripe was live, and a real order went through from payment to download. Then we built out the store: both workbooks, free coloring books and reward pages, signed download links, a thank-you email to the buyer, and an order email to PreSafe. A private admin area now runs the blog, with a writing assistant that has a hard spending limit and social posts sent to Buffer from the same screen. We remade twelve videos in HeyGen, six character introductions and six chapter rhymes, gave each character its own voice, and rebuilt the character art from the original vector files. The videos now live in a Safety Rhymes Learning Center with the words printed on the page. Every page has its own title, a canonical link, and structured data that search engines can read.
