Recommend & Share is a UK-based service marketplace built to restore trust and fairness in the trades industry. The platform connects customers and tradespeople under transparent, pre-agreed terms — work to be done, completion date, and price — ensuring both sides are protected. Every transaction leaves a permanent public record, empowering customers to choose dependable professionals and helping contractors avoid unreliable clients. More than just a review site, Recommend & Share reimagines the service economy as an ecosystem of accountability. Its upcoming Phase 2 introduces an integrated escrow system, guaranteeing that contractors, suppliers, and merchants alike are paid fairly — addressing one of the most persistent pain points in the industry: payment disputes.
The Challenge
The UK’s service industry has long battled a lack of accountability on both sides of the transaction. Customers often fall victim to unreliable tradespeople who fail to deliver as promised — while honest contractors lose income to rogue clients who refuse to pay. Even merchants who supply materials are left exposed, becoming collateral damage in disputes that aren’t their fault. When Recommend & Share first approached Alchemy Apps, their vision was powerful but their platform was struggling.
